What's the word Wednesday? Comfort

You don't think of real estate immediately when you think of the word comfort.  Comfort by definition is:

1.  a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint.

2. The easing or alleviation of a person's feelings of grief or distress.

When you think of moving, a lot of folks consider it a happy time.  Even if you are moving to your absolute dream house, there is a disruption in your daily life and any kind of change can be stressful.  I read an article that lists the stress of moving as only slightly less stressful a death in the family or a divorce.

There are many unhappy reasons for a move.  Spouses pass away, children grow up, homeowners become unable to do or keep up with the maintenance of a home.  But the memories of a home make it very difficult to let go.  I am privileged to know so many caring agents and we take great pride in being the hand holders in our industry.  We take care of business but it's not always just business and there are times that we do comfort.  We become involved.  We help. Because we care.

I consider it an honor to assist my clients during the happiest and yes, sometimes, the saddest times in their lives.  I am proud that I sometimes become a part of the family.

I'm hoping that if we meet in a real estate transaction, it's a happy occasion but please know I'm with you for the long haul.  For the good, the bad, the sad and the happy.
