Thankful for My Partner In Life, Steve- Thankful AR Contest Day 3 by Silicon Valley REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
One of the people I am most thankful for is my husband, Steve. We met in April 1991, a year after my first husband and I separated. I was a young single mother of a precocious near-four year old at the time, and Steve was a young bachelor. As I mentioned in my post about Day 2, I am thankful for God and even more so after meeting Steve because I am certain it was Him that brought us together.
The night we met, we talked about going to the Home Church I attended in Campbell together the next morning.As it was Daylight Savings Time (spring forward an hour), we didn't connect. Unfortunately, I had the 
wrong number to reach him, (he was in the habit of giving women the wrong phone number), so I was left with no way to contact Steve again. He called that morning but didn't leave any phone number on my answering machine.
Social media profiles were not a thing in the early 90's as most of you know! Even with only talking that one night, I could tell he was a good man worth getting to know. God helped unite us by guiding me to an employee at the 24 Hour Fitness gym Steve told me he went to, and they connected us. (Although I had to undergo a grilling before getting the righ phone number!)
Once we connected from there, the two of us started to fall in love. Even my daughter was ready to call him "Daddy" way before we were even engaged! When I asked why, she said in that adorably earnest way young children do, "He [Steve] loves me, I can tell."
I am thankful that we were able to find each other, and start a life that even through many painful experiences, has been full of love, happiness, laughter, and wonderful memories.
