My friends and family thought I had dropped off the planet. One friend even called to make sure I wasn't dead, or mad at her! It all began about 48 hours ago, when I noticed I had lost Internet connectivity. We don't know what we have until we have lost it. It wasn't only e-mail, but Netflix streaming too. I also use my smart phone to surf the web here at home. Alas, it too was gone.
I called my provider (AT&T), and they sent out a tech early this afternoon. It wasn't only a modem that needed replacing, but new wiring here at the house to replace the aged stuff that wasn't serving me well. Gratefully, they sent out Don, Who spent the next 3 plus hours working hard to restore connectivity. I was impressed with his skill and knowledge. I was envious of his stamina, while he mastered ladders, wire, and keyboards to get me up and running once again.
I must admit I kind of enjoyed the time away from the matrix. I shoved a couple movie DVDs into the player and calmly munched popcorn like a kid again. I even read a few chapters of a real paper bound book.
Alas, when reconnected once again, I found 128 email messages. Once the spam was whittled away, there were 67 messages left to respond to. Life within the matrix begins once again!
