I have spent the last 2 hours trying to understand how to improve my visibility on the search engines.  I am just learning how to improve my website and visibility on the web.  This is very frustrating! Anyone have any good advice for me?

Faith, go to the 'Groups' tab and join some groups if you haven't already.  Use the sort feature to view groups in the particular area of interest you have.  There are several great groups for SEO that offer great tips.  Blogging in itself is a great tool for SEO.  Essentially, the point is to make topics that consumers will find you from.  For example, I made a thread showing FHA approved condos for Gainesville, FL and everyone searching for that will see my blog come up on the first page.

I also started a food group and the focus is to profile your local restaurants that you think are great.  Anyone searching for those restaurants will find your blog (probably on page 1, especially if there aren't a lot of articles on that restaurant).  You never know if those hungry people are in the market to buy or sell real estate, and they found your informative blog!!  (You're definitely welcome to join my group, Active Rain Foodaholics and check it out! Just click "join group" on the left)

Take a little time to lurk and look at other's blogs and see what they're posting about.  Your wheels will start turning!  You can post your listings in some groups, but more importantly, post them to localism where consumers will see them.  Definitely make it a point to join Active Rain Newbies.  There are informative and helpful threads for the new user and it is a forum for you to ask questions and get help if you're having trouble.

Good luck in the rain!  E-mail me if you need help with anything!  angela.elliott1@century21.com

So- everyone keeps talking about how great ActiveRain is and how much information is out there.  I am still trying to learn my way around.  I have not given it the time commitment!

Thank you Angela, the advice was helpful!

Angela,

Do you use the new Century 21 website Company Broadspire?   I am in the process of changing over to this and I was curious to see if anyone was able to add the active rain button links to it.

Thanks,

Faith
