Thankful For the Beach
From the moment we moved to Delray Beach 30 years ago I was in love with the beach. It wasn’t my first experience with the beach since I am from Houston and we went to the beach often when I was growing up.
However, there are the Texas beaches, and then there are FLORIDA beaches!
The beach is my source of energy before I start the day. It is ever changing-like a lake on some days and rough and choppy on others.
You never know who or what you’ll see.
I’ve been told the sea and sands on the beach have healing powers, and perhaps they do. When I am on the beach, it seems easier to breathe, as if my lungs want to take in every bit of the salt air.
And so during this season when we count our blessings, I am grateful and thankful that I have the beaches here in Delray.
To go out with the setting sun on an empty beach is to truly embrace your solitude. Jeanne Moreau
