Thankfulness (DAY 5) - Home Sweet Home
After having lived in nearly every area of the Charlotte Metro over the decades, learning the areas and fine-tuning my clientele, it was time to build our final home - well, maybe not final but, final for the moment! LOL Seriously, Ray knows that my dream is to have a lake house for the summer months and live in town during the other months. One day, that dream will come true - without a doubt!
In 2014, we had the luxury of building a home, exactly the way we wanted it - and in the exact location that we wanted. We knew the areas that I served needed to have a more central 'home base' and after months and months of searching, found the perfect setting to build our new home!
*Ray's favorite part of the building process - claiming his garage - free & clear of any clutter whatsoever! LOL
Our boys were grown and independent at the time so, why not go for it?! No more college tuition and the market had turned around in the *past 2 years like nobody's business! So, we did it and are so very thankful that we did. *2012 marked the end of the recession here in Charlotte.
This Thanksgiving, I am ever so grateful for my home and boy, do I love where I live too! Not only the foundation of the home but, the love and friendships shared inside the walls and yes, the warmth that I feel when I am there.
We love entertaining and have thoroughly enjoyed doing a LOT of that in the 3 short years since we've been in this home! I live in SouthPark, which is truly the center of Charlotte and I couldn’t be happier - it takes me no time to get to any corner of the Metro region.
There's no place like home, sweet home and I'm so thankful for being blessed with a home that I love returning to every single day!
Thank you once again, Debbie Reynolds, for your Thanksgiving challenge!
