Kitchen Remodel Part 1

By
Real Estate Agent with Remax First Realty II 0790808

We've decided to take the plunge.

After living with a 50 year old kitchen for 13 years, we've decided to go with a full remodel.

Here is the "before."

Last week, we met with a kichen designer and selected "fashion pearl" cabinets which are arriving on Wednesday. The painter is coming the day after Thanksgiving, so today is demolition day.

Which means last night was empty-the-kitchen day. Our dining room looks like this now.

Our demolition experts are our son and his buddy Max who made great progress by lunch time.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Hello Wayne and Jean Marie Zuhl, I know it will be great once it's all done, not easy to have a construction in the home while you're living in it.  Looking forward to seeing "after" photos.

Good afternoon Wayne and Jean - I guess we know where you will not be spending Thanksgiving this year.  Can't wait for the updates.

Making a cup of coffee this morning was challenging. The coffee pot is plugged in to the foyer and sitting on a box. Don't envy me!

How fun and a little chaotic at the tsame time.  I'm sure it will be absolutely beautiful when you are done.

Wayne & Jean - don't envy you the disruption, but is definitely worth it in the end.  My experience, the dust & dirt period always last longer than you think.  Good luck!

Our demolishers were VERY careful. There are plastic sheets over the doors and paper lining the paths to and from the kitchen. Yet, this morning there was a thin layer of dust pretty much everywhere. Do I clean now or just wait until it's over?

Hi Wayne and Jean, I am very interested to see how this turns out for you.  We have been thinking about a kitchen remodel as well.  Thanks for sharing and keeping us posted.

It's much bigger than I anticipated, Bob. And the holiday this week complicates things even more. If we weren't spending a small fortune on this, we'd be in a hotel :)
