Belinda Spillman is hosting an ActiveRain Challenges this month titled "Forth Annual Pay It Forward ActiveRain Challenge For November 2017". For this challenge Belinda is simply asks us ""to get involved and help others in a "Pay it Forward" kind of mindset""
This time of the year is an easy time to be kind to others especially with Thanksgiving this month and the spirit of Christmas in the air. I have had a number of things I always do at this time of the year, along with others which are done randomly when opportunities present themselves. Below are some of the Random Acts Of Kindness For 2017 which I be doing between now and the end of the year.
I always donate toys to the toy drive the Middlesex Chamber Real Estate Council does every year. The Real Estate Council collects toys for needy children at the Middlesex Chamber Real Estate Council Holiday Luncheon which the Lender I work for sponsors and is held in early December. I will also contribute toys for two toy drives a couple of Real Estate Offices I partner with do during this time of the year.
My wife and also donate to a couple of programs our church does during this time of year. Our church is providing 100 baskets with all the fixings for a Thanksgiving Dinner to needy families in the area. Besides contributing funds to purchase items for the Thanksgiving Baskets, we will also be helping to put the baskets together. The Church my wife and go to started a program called "Fresh Start" two years ago. The Fresh Start program does exactly what the name implies. The program helps family who have lost their home to fire or other major catastrophe by helping them get a "fresh start" with furniture, appliances, cloths, food, and other needed items. My wife and I have donated items and funds to the Fresh Start program throughout the year to assist these families. But everyone at Church wants to go one step further at Christmas and adopt a family through the "Fresh Start", and fulfill their Christmas wishes.
The other acts of kindness will be done at random, and as needed. For example the last few years a couple of my neighbors have needed help clearing their driveways and sidewalks of snow. One of them is elderly and the other lost her husband and does not have family near by. So when we have a significant snow storm I take my snowblower and clear out their driveways.
I could go on about other Random Acts Of Kindness For 2017 which both my wife and I will do through out the month, but these are already more than I like to talk about, because these acts are things we do privately. I hope each and everyone takes not only this time of the year, but every opportunity throughout the year to do something kind for someone else when there is an opportunity to do so.
