We are appreciative and thankful to CalTrans for maintaining the roads that take us where we went to go. The photo above shows the roads that lead to many wonderful wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley.
This photo is of the Oakland Bay Bridge that led us to the Napa Valley a week and a half ago.
And this exit off of 101 South takes us home!

Beth Atalay I know what you mean. One of our favorite small wineries have serveral roads that are unpaved...our car looked terrible by the time we got home..it was worth it, and now they have their pick-up parties at their home...A

You and Ron are native Californians, and I have my reservation to come back to CA next lifetime. I love our state! A

That is so true! Imagine we had to still travel on dirt roads that are just wide enough for one or maybe two vehicles. Travel time between places so much improved with a maintained road system.

Endre Barath, Jr. we had such a good time. We had a blast at the stops also, we found the best coffee place in San Luis Obispo. had a marvelous lunch in Carmel, dinner with friends in Napa, lunch with a friend the next day. and dinner at the French Laundry the next night for a white truffle dinner. Our client took over the whole restaurant...Then back to Monterey, Pebble Beach...California is such a gorgeous state...we love it here. A

I have yet to travel across the new Bay Bridge. I need to fix that soon. As for the signs pointing in two directions. It would be difficult to miss a wonderful opportunity, whichever direction you traveled.

Love the photos you shared. Yes our roads and bridges allow us to go to so many places. When I was in LA a few week-ends ago I was amazed at how quickly we got everywhere and for once the traffic was not as heavy as I've seen it! Of course my brother was driving and dropped me off at the airport..had so much fun and we just listen as our app told us where to turn!

We have done a lot of road travel and some states have awful road conditions. You do a lot of travel on California roads and glad your state keeps them in good condition.
