My Baking for Thanksgiving Begins Today ...

This is what I've been doing since 5:00am this morning. I'm taking the day off from the gym because my muscles need a break to repaire.  I meet my trainer again tomorrow, and it's back and biceps this week.

This is Paklava.... 500 calories/ glance.... imagine how fattening to eat!!!! I don't eat it... while the kids eat this, I have a carrot..... good sugar!

I have Choreg dough rising for the next 4 hours.....then I'll make semi-sweet braided rolls with it.... alot of work, but the kids like it.... my house smells like heaven....

 

By the way, these are Armenian recipes.... NOT GREEK... Armenians had paklava first... we spell it with a P and Greeks spell it with a B...Baklava... It's the same pastry, and ours was first!!! Remember that!!

kneeding dough is a workout....at least, I make it a workout...and the finished product is always soft and yummy..... not for me though....haven't eaten grain in 5 years......

Good morning Barbara Todaro, I could just imagine how your home smells..heavenly! You have a lot of willpower not to eat any of this good stuff. I don't like baklava, if I eat it, I rinse all the syrup then dry it with a paper towel, I know I'm weird.

mine is absorbed in the paklava.... no extra.... it's just right....it's sugar, water and lemon juice... not honey....

no taste testing for me.... when I bake, my adult children are always around.... Michael tested everything.... many times today...I need to make more tomorrow and platter it before he comes over!!! it's a race.
