This is the end of the line for the 12 day challenge but certainly not the end of the line for being thankful. What I have seen for posts is one of the best contest I have been involved with and so on this final day I want to speak to the commonality.
Thankful For Significant others: The most common theme I saw was out special somethings. Married or not it seemed we all have a partner that we were grateful for that made our lives so much better. The act of sharing with someone you have constant contact with is a challenge in itself and requires forgiveness and tolerance. I can see that most people here do not go to bed with their besty in anger and that is a good thing.
Thankful for Unconditional Love: Pets are our emotion support center. They keep us calm and teach us about that constant state of love. I think the reason why pets have a shorter life is they do not have to wade through the load of crap that we have to go through to get to nirvana. They are born with it and constantly give and this is why they are spoiled by us. They deserve it.
Thankful for Community: I have been in Active Rain for a long time and I have also volunteered on a local, state, and national board level. In the process of all of these I have been with groups of massive tolerance, dedication, and a true sense of being joined at the hip. Yes we have friends and family but beyond that we crave and need connection. I really don't care if I get directed sales from Active Rain because indirectly I process information. learn more, and feel more connected because of community. Thank you to all of you I have met and also who i hope to met in person. You make us all better.
Thankful for our Tools: For those of us older and who have embraced technology it has made much of our lives simpler and more efficient. it also has a dark side we need to be aware of because it is not the universal solution to everything. It is like an artist with a paint brush, it can either be a work of art, or it can be a kid's finger painting. I have met many artist here.
Thankful for the "Real Debbie Reynolds": I have had the pleasure of meeting you and I want to give you thanks for the best contest ever. I do write thank you notes almost everyday but to put into words for 12 days is even better. In face, I think I could go another 12 days because we have so much to be thankful for and to be reminded of that in our helter skelter lives is always a good thing. You did a good thing and we are all thankful. Happy Holidays and wishing everyone the best 2018.
