One of my favorite ways to show thankfulness to my clients, co-workers, friends and family members is by giving gift baskets or gift bags filled with fun and special treats. Throughout the year I pick up things like scented candles, sugar scrubs, body wash, hand creams, car wash gift cards, snacks etc. and store them away until December. I often find nice items at Target in the front of their stores for very good prices. If time permits I add home made goodies to the bags or baskets. People usually seem to love getting home made fudge or the peanut butter candy I learned how to make from my mom.
Sometimes, I order gift baskets, usually from a local provider in order to support small businesses in the community. In cases when the basket needs to be shipped I have ordered from national companies. I sometimes find their shipping costs to be very reasonable.
For the past several years I have signed individual Christmas cards and put them in the mail boxes of friends from church. I have alsoe done this with my co-workers. Our church has mail slots for every family. That makes it convenient to give cards to friends and it also saves a ton on postage.
One of the most fun aspects of doing this is seeing the happy and surprised look on the faces of the recipients who had no idea I would be doing this.
This is a basket I found while shopping recently. I love the festive bow on top
