This is me today.

 

Earlier in the week, fed up with my lack of interest in cooking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, Mary seized control of the festivities. I'm the prime rib, leg of lamb, or roast duck guy, and it had been years since we had a turkey and did anything like a normal Thanksgiving.

 

Yesterday, she and our daughter Stacie spent the day cooking enough food to make the dinner table sag. They did a wonderful job with the turkey and all of the usual suspects, and of course, we all ate way too much.

 

Especially me. Oh well, at least I'm ready for a long, cold winter.

Dick- I know the feeling. For me it’s all about the other stuff- mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potato casserole and the stuffing. Had I stopped there, my scale would not have been as unkind as it was to me. But how can you pass up Apple pie, pumpkin pie, and chocolate pecan pie!

Dick Greenberg  I love cooking for Thanksgiving  my favorite time to cook  . My son-in law John however does most of the cooking . I do my share on the sides and homemade gravy which I find essential  ...No canned  stuff on our table everything is homemade

Dick I took two long walks yesterday trying to wear off the Thanksgiving dinner but that did not get me back to Pre-Thanksgiving dinner weight ....... LOL

Dick, loved your description of the dinner and the results... just on a side note Diane forced me to go around two blocks to unload some of the Marathon Eating we did for the past 24 hrs:)) so with that Happy Thanksgiving to continue until the food is gone:)Endre
