Do you DARE to dream & more importantly do you dare to reach your Goals?
Our lives have been and are bombarded with so much information. Starting from the Internet, Social Media and the list goes on and on. The saddest part is, that most of it is not Good News. What makes it even worse is, at times even the Information is inaccurate, therefore there is a high probability, that we might not be getting good Information.
When I was growing up as a kid, I was accustomed to getting the facts. In other words, that news was just reported, and it consisted of the dates, times, location and what happened. Based on the facts presented, we were able to draw our own conclusion for better or worse.
As I was getting older, I started noticing a change in the direction of the information we were receiving. Just to give you examples, the New York Newspapers each have their own agenda, the Washington papers have an agenda as well and the list goes on and on.
In my opinion this trend has gotten worse as time went on. Now I find that we are at the point where everything you read you must wonder is this True or is this False information. We are being given information, but many things are omitted hence the message we receive could cause us to draw a different interpretation, just because of the omission of certain facts. Anyway, you get the idea and you get my point.
I find that this trend will and is already having a detrimental effect on the younger and future generations, because they are being bombarded with all these opinionated “facts”. Hence it is, and it will affect the ability to judge what is True and what is False, strictly based on whose information we believe to be True. I am noticing how much harder I must gather information and determine what are the real facts and what are made up facts.
So, my point is, not only does this affect how we look at the political and economic climate of our land, but it goes deeper, we are looking at everything with a large dose of skepticism. If we are not we should be.
Every day brings us a new opportunity, provided we allow it to happen and we allow our dreams to rule the day.
My father was a dreamer, he would not allow all the challenges that was thrown in his path to stop him or debilitate him, he converted each challenge to another opportunity to reach his dreams. Now keep in mind, he was not bombarded with Social Media and millions of Internet’s bad information. He grew up in Communist Hungary and he was accustomed to getting “disinformation” and ‘misleading data, despite that, he managed to keep his Goals and Dreams in order.
The Opportunities are there, it is just harder to find it with all the distractions. There is a great quote that President Ronal Reagan said:
Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation. You will have opportunities beyond anything we've ever known.
