Just saw Kathy Steib's request to keep the Thankful comments coming. I really am thankful for the Salvation Army. My first memory of Christmas is when I must have been 1 or 2 and we lived above a chicken store. I remember the Salvation Army Officer in his uniform bringing toys and a Christmas Tree.
When I opened Mortgage Magic I became a member of the Salvation Advisory Board for Santa Clara County and remmained on the board for 25 years until an illness forced me to basically quit all outside activities. That illness is now a year past and it is time to get back to helping others
It is not much but my company will ring the bell at a local store on December 15. The Salvation Army can accept volunteer bell ringers or pay people to ring the bell. It is obvious that more money can go to those really in dire need if volunteeers work the kettles.
Here is a 2 minute video about the bell ringing. I am thankful that the Salvation Army helped me as a child and that I can turn around and help the Salvation Army.
