Giving to a Special Cause: Bed 'n' Biscuits - A Doggy Daycare!
Going to the Grand Opening of Bed 'n' Biscuits, I knew it would be a special venture for the St. George, Utah area. Not only are they a top notch doggy daycare but they also put people in transition to work. Part of their proceeds go to Switchpoint, a local homeless shelter.

I have volunteered time towards raising awareness and asked for donations on behalf of Switchpoint / Bed 'n' Biscuits. Often dressing up as a Bulldog, high fiving and handing out healthy dog treats to people at the monthly Georgefest celebration, the first Friday of every month.

A portion of my real estate earnings also go to Bed 'n' Biscuits. The Switchpoint organization speaks to me regarding helping people in transition who have lost their way, their jobs or children, who sincerely want to be better-do better and need a boost up, not a hand out.
If there is a need to be filled in the community, one can volunteer time, give financially or join forces to improve the ciscumstances of others. It is inspiring to see the lives that are improved by this organization.

Bed 'n' Biscuits is the newest and greatest dog boarding / daycare facility in St. George, Utah. Please stop by with your pet(s) and meet the wonderful staff and Mobile Vet, Dr. Chris Moore. Not only will your pet get much deserved pampering when you drop them off, they can be groomed, get immunized and play with peer pups all day long!
Each day starts at 8 am when all dogs begin with a morning play session. A typical day includes play, breakfast, rest, potty breaks and dinner. They take pride in being your dogs home away from home, where your pet's happiness is a top priority. A friendly, professional pet-loving staff will ensure your pet gives Bed 'n' Biscuits a tail-wagging, two-paws up!
People without a place to live are also getting trained by job shadowing, thanks to this new business venture launched by Switchpoint, a southern Utah homeless shelter. For those interested in using Bed ‘n’ Biscuits services, they:
- Have an overnight staff
- Are open on Sundays
- Offer on-site grooming
- Provide on-call seasoned Veterinarian
- Accept dogs of all breeds and sizes
This is Switchpoint's second venture. They also run a Thrift Store with proceeds going to support the homeless shelter. The Bed 'n' Biscuits facility can house 70 dogs at this time with several play areas, indoors and out, designed for socializing and exercise. Future plans include an area for cats.

I was inspired early on at a fund raising luncheon where some people were donating thousands of dollars to Switchpoint and I gave what I could. A woman stood up to talk about her success story since being sent to Switchpoint. It moved me that she was brave enough to stand up in front of everyone and bare her soul to strangers. She had lost her kids, was doing drugs, lost her job too and was sent to jail. They gave her a choice to get herself straight. She denied having problems until she was sent back to jail, then opened her eyes to a new life for herself and her kids but she had to work for it, stay clean and get right. She is one of many success stories that has come out of this organization.
