Lunch at Hank's Place, Chadds Ford, PA

Chef Dolores suggested lunch at Hank's Place, at the corner of Rt. 1 and 100 in Chadds Ford, PA, before our afternoon visit to the nearby Brandywine River Museum of Art. This well known local restaurant is owned by Katie and Anthony Young and you must try it when you are in the area. Click on the link to visit the website and to view the menu.

Dolores selected the Grilled Reuben with lean corned beef, sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing grilled on seedless deli-rye bread. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich with homemade crab cake deep fried until golden brown and served with lettuce, tomato, pickle and tarter sauce. Both sandwiches were served with French fries and cole slaw.

Stop reading here if you are on a diet. For dessert, we shared the best hot chocolate sundae with walnuts that we have ever tasted. Truly sinful and wonderful.

Anthony Young stopped by our table to chat and to make sure we were enjoying our meal. It is very easy to recommend Hank's Place.

Immigration
Statement from Chief Srokachief
The U.S. Court of Appeals ruled in 2013 that state and local law enforcement officers do not have the legal grounds to stop, detain, search, or arrest any individual based solely on an ICE civil warrant, unless they have been deputized by ICE to do so. No officer in the City of Gaithersburg has been deputized to enforce federal immigration laws. Gaithersburg Police Chief Mark Sroka recently issued a video statement reaffirming that undocumented immigrants in the City of Gaithersburg should not fear the police. Officers will not detain or arrest undocumented immigrants simply for being undocumented. To keep the City safe, it is important for ALL residents to feel comfortable coming forward to report incidents and crimes. Watch the statement and read the Spanish translation here

Roy,

I am salivating, and I love the crab lunch idea.  We had a salad with lump meat crab on consecutive lunch days in Florida.  It is one of our favorite foods.  A
