Not So Speechless Sunday: A View From The Top of Stagecoach Road!

Yesterday after the Santa Barbara Farmers Market, we decided to get away from the smoke and ashes atmosphere.  We drove to the Cold Spring Tavern for breakfast.  The smoke cloud followed us, and made a lovely picture.

When we got to the bottom of the road, I took a picture looking up at the famous Cold Spring bridge where the restaurant is located.  It was 15 degrees cooler, and the lighting was beautiful.  The air was crisp and clean for the time we spent there.  It was a luxury to breathe deeply!

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD It was a false alarm, it was meant for the Northern Hills above us.  It was scary to see the hills on fire, and we thought we would be next.  The fire continues among the many ridges up there, and has moved on to higher elevations of Montecito which was the warning we received a half hour ago.  The flat areas where we live should remain fine,

We have a large swatch of blue skies over us.   I cannot imagine the fire crossing our way, as the ocean is 3 minutes away by car, and the reserve salt marshes an wet lands are behind us within a 5 minute walk.  We also have the channel into which the fresh water empties and the high tide meets it...And the place has sprinklers.

Whew, so glad to hear this news, A. Be safe and know we're sending you positive wishes.  Mother Nature needs to kick into gear and bring California some much needed relief. :(

Michael Jacobs we are safe and at home.  The hills to the North were ablaze, it looked scary, so ti was intense at 2AM.  False Alarm!  The fire has moved on to the hills of Montecito, right where we had made an offer on a house...lucky we are down in the flats surrounded by water...so far so good.  A
