No White Flags

Reblogger James Dray
Managing Real Estate Broker with Fathom Realty PB00068179

While we all know the drop out rate is high for agents, it's refreshing to hear about one that will not throw in the "white flag".  This post was written by a new agent.  She has the right spirit and will IMHO survive.  What do you think?  Anyway please drop by and make a comment on her post.  Give her the encouragement to continue

I have been sitting here...and there...and everywhere trying to come up with something outstanding to write about.  Something light with a touch of humor.  Blank mind!  I have come up with nothing.  Deciding my mind was weary from a long day, I grab a candy cane, a glass of wine and head for the treadmill hoping to come up with a really stupendous idea or two.  The treadmill helps clear my mind and believe it or not; it actually helps to revive me.  Halfway done (I usually walk for 45 to 50 minutes), it hit me.  Share my real estate adventure post becoming licensed.  Nothing light or humorous at this time.

I have been struggling for a while now trying to figure out this real estate business.  No matter what kind of scores you make on you Real Estate class tests and both your class and state final exams, nothing prepares us for what is in store.  I have exhausted all of the real estate websites for information, watched numerous webinars ( which at the end of everyone; so far, offers you a 'package deal' to purchase) and downloaded countless ebooks.  Has all of this helped?  Probably so, because I was one lost pup upon passing my exam.  I was told by another agent 'I love being an agent and you will too all in due time.  It's (a lead) just around the corner'!  I have heeded some of the advice and sent out post cards and introductory letters to my SOI (sphere of influence) and have not gotten a single lead yet.  Did or have any of you had the same feelings?  What was your best way of attacting leads?  In spite of all my frustrations and confusion; I will not throw in the towel.  I will keep on learning, experimenting and hopefully I will find out what works good for me.  No white flags raised from me yet!

My suggestion to her was to join a company that focuses on training and on teams. Join a team that provides leads. Learn while you earn.
