It's time to load the family into the car and enjoy Christmas lights in cities across Central Mississippi. There's still time to get into the spirit of the holidays and enjoy the festive Christmas displays in the following locations:
TOWN SQUARE, CANTON, MS
You simply MUST see the Canton Christmas Festival of Lights. From now until December 23rd, you'll see hundreds of thousands of sparking lights, enjoy the four story LED Christmas tree, ride in horse drawn carriages, fire truck and train rides, and see Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Canton display of lights is spectacular and not to be missed! For more information, contact Canton Tourism.
FLOWOOD, MS
Winner Circle Park becomes a Winter Wonderland each year beginning in early December. You can enjoy the enchanted park until December 22 this year. The park features between 300,000 - 500,000 holiday lights, a trail of Christmas trees, and of course, a spot to visit Santa and have pictures taken (bring your own camera). The Winner's Circle Park Christmas Train will run nightly until the 22nd except Sunday evenings.
RIDGELAND, MS
Freedom Ridge Park is the place to view the 2017 Wonderland of Lights. The park is open nightly from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. through December 31. The light display is organized by Ridgeland Parks and Recreation.
RICHARDSON LIGHT SHOW, MADISON, MS
The Richardson Family Light Display is a privately held event that almost didn't happen this year. Thousands of vehicles drive by the Richardson home at 219 Sundial Road in Madison, which caused concern for neighbors in previous years. However, Madison leaders voted to allow the display and have implemented a route for traffic to follow.
For directions and approved routes, visit the Richardson Family website.
CLINTON, MS
The City of Clinton is getting in on the action with Clinton Nature Centers' Deck the Trails. This event begins December 15 and runs through December 23. Hours are 6:00-8:30 p.m. This is a fundraiser for the nature center and includes a quarter mile illuminated trail, a light and music show, and ending with a visit from Santa at Price Hall.
$3 tickets can be purchased on site at 617 Dunton Road.
For more information, visit the website at Clinton Nature Center.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
