Fed raises short-term benchmark rate by 25 basis points -- leaves investors with expectation for three more hikes in 2018. News is mortgage interest rate neutral.

The mortgage market has improved on the news, which is the opposite of what most would think, but very typical of the credit markets. This move was already priced into the market so it is no longer a worry, and on top of that- there was no change to the language or anticipation of any additional surprises moving forward.
