I live in a very quaint, humble, friendly town called Haddonfield, New Jersey. We have about 8 restaurants in a town with about 12,000 residents. About half of these restaurants are well-known in the Southern New Jersey area and I am getting to know them as the year goes on. Well, in the middle of last week, I decided to take someone to one of these restaurants. The restaurant that we visited was called Duo Italian Bistro.
It happened to be a late dinner of about 7 pm and we were one of the last ones to leave. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners who came over to ask how our dinner was. As we were speaking, I had the opportunity of telling him what I do for a living. Imagine that, talk about perfect timing. He is actually looking to purchase a home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He basically wants to move to Charlotte with his girlfriend and start a new life. So we exchanged business cards and I told him that I had a great realtor from the Charlotte area and that I would e-mail him her information later that night. The first name that came to mind was Leigh Brown.
I e-mailed Leigh that night to let her know that I referred her a client. What inspired me to write this blog was that I stopped into this clients restaurant today to drop off his credit report and to get a bite to each for lunch. He came over and sat down with me and we talked about his goals and his plans. He told me that Leigh had sent him some e-mails with some MLS listings. He also told me that she has been very helpful not only with the local area, but explaining to him certain market conditions which solidified my earlier statement to him in regards to the spring market and home prices. His next comment is what actually brought a smile to my face. "Leigh has been extremely helpful, professional, and enjoyable to speak to." Here is the kicker..... "My girlfriend is extremely impressed and she is not easily impressed and sometimes hard to warm over." What a great compliment. Not only for Leigh Brown, but to myself also. This client overall was extremely happy that I had walked into his restaurant that evening and even said so today. Talk about out of state team work per se.
Because of ActiveRain, it has allowed me to get to know Leigh Brown. And over the months, reading her blogs and comments, it has given me much confidence in her knowledge of real estate and helping others. Overall, I didn't have any hesitation giving her name out. And I just received a thank you card from her the other day with a gift card to Starbucks.
