Brandon MS Transitions into Fall ~ a Photo Journal

By

The following photos taken at Castlewoods Country Club depict the change in scenery during autumn weather. The first photo was taken late afternoon on October 28. Leaves are just beginning to turn and the golf course is still green.

The next photo was taken two weeks later. The leaves continue to turn, the grass is still green, and the lake is a gorgeous shade of blue.

The following photo was taken in late November. You can see Mother Nature is slowly taking her toll on the golf course. The tree in the foreground is almost bare.

December 2nd - some of the trees have lost their leaves, the course is no longer green except for the tee, but the golfers don't seem to mind.

The snow melted the following day and life in central MS went back to normal.

For those who wonder what MS weather is like, it changes constantly. There is a saying if you don't like MS weather, wait five minutes. It will change.

Our summers are HOT and humid. Temperatures frequently hit the 90s and when you factor in the humidity, it "feels like" 100 degrees or better.

Winters are usually mild with the average lows in the mid 30s. January is our coldest month and July is our warmest.

Myrl Jeffcoat - thank you! This is my view of the golf course.

Hannah Williams - I love the south. Not sure how people survive the cold winter months up north.

Endre Barath, Jr. - George Souto inspired me to write this post, but all I had to do was walk outside. This is my view of the Castlewoods Golf Course and I take photos of the scenery frequently.

What a lovely transition you've chronicled in this post, Pat. Fun idea, I may have to take a scene and do something similar for each season.

Hannah Williams ~ hibernating is not an option when we have clients. Thankfully our snowfall and freezing temps are few and far between!

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD ~ Do it! I love to see the change of scenery in other parts of the country, and I'm sure others will enjoy it, too.

Hello Pat,  love the different photos and what a change in them.  I use to place a course in Ohio in the winter months and Wendys had chili on the back nine.

Debe Maxwell, CRS and Joan Cox - yes, Mississippi had 5.5 inches of snow, but that's likely all we will see for the next two or three years! You will get your share, I'm sure.

Will Hamm - I'm sure the golfers enjoyed chili plus a warm toddy after a round of golf in the winter months! Maybe even a cozy fire at the clubhouse?
