rich dansereau, home america mortgage, movie review

I saw The Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian on Saturday Night in a packed theater. This is second installment based on the C.S. Lewis books The Chronicles of Narnia. I can think of only a handful of studios equipped to pull of the C.G. effects necessary to make this movie enjoyable; Disney definitely tops that list!

I will not be giving any spoilers so you can read this post with that assurance!

If you are a fan of the C.S. Lewis books, the first movie in the series The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, fantasy movies, and or Disney studios, you will enjoy this film. Please be advised of the PG rating that was given for Epic Battle Action And Violence. This film, in my opinion, had a bit more violence than the first movie so there may be some scenes that are too intense for children under 6 or so.

That being said, this movie has a good story line that will appeal to those who enjoy heroic epic type movies. The cinematography is wonderful, complete with sweeping landscapes and beautiful imagery. The C.G. is second to none and a premier example of the power of this technology. I truly enjoyed this film and believe it can be enjoyed fully by those who may have missed the first in this series. This is definitely a must see, and I would see it again.

I haven't been to a movie theatre in a very long time...I usually wait for them to come out on video...then enjoy them in private! I'll probably do the same with this...I love C.S. Lewis and unfortunately lost The Chronicles in a move.

Rich, the girls saw the movie Friday night and loved it (apparently, Prince Caspian isn't too hard on the eyes!) I loved the first movie I can't wait to see this one. C.S. Lewis is Megan's favorite author, she's read everything he wrote.

RK Ruthman - LOL...No spoilers! It was filmed in New Zealand. Think LOTR for New Zealand reference!

Vincent - You all will really enjoy it!

Cris - While I catch a lot of flicks as rentals, this one will not disappoint if you see it in the theater. Some of the large, epic movies should be seen in the theater. I would say that Star Wars, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Footloose are just three examples of movies that should be enjoyed on the big screen!

Debbie - For your viewing pleasure... You will love it!

Joan - You will definitely enjoy it! (See Debbie Malone's comment above)!

Rich, I have to agree that this is a great movie and one for the family. Hide the eyes of the young ones. But, it is a must see if you liked the first one. And even if you did not as I thought it was better.

Rich,

I can't wait to see this one.  We own Chronicles of Narnia at home.  I read the C.S. Lewis books as a child, so they have a special place in my heart.  Thanks for the review.

Danny -Glad you enjoyed this installment too!

Rebecca - I have really enjoyed the trend in recent years of bringing some of the best loved books from our childhood, Lord of the Rings and Spiderwick Chronicles (just to name a couple), to the big screen in an entertaining and quality manner! You will love the movie!
