So I've got an experiment I'm going to try for one of my clients

My client is in a very competitive category.  I'm trying to help him rank better, so he can hopefully get out of this expensive pay per click game.

So a couple of weeks ago, his assistant created town by town pages...in the same way his competition did.  Of course, he is currently ranking lower on the page since his pages are newer.  For the search term "We buy houses Amityville," he is currently ranking #6.  Same for "Sell my house fast Amityville."  (and, yes, Amityville is a real place and it's on Long Island...and it's supposedly based on a "true" story from Amityville, Long Island).  But, I digress.

So, there are currently 18 new pages, town by town, and my client ranks in various spots pending on the town, generally going from spot #10 to spot #3, but most on in the #6 or #7 positions, and I want to get them higher.

I'm hoping I can get him to rank higher, and we'll see if doing some extra backlinks will do the trick.  I have a few ideas on how to do this and at least I have a record of where they all currently rank.  Wish me luck.

Hi Debbie - I will be interested in learning how it works out. Yes I lived in Long Island and remember when this tragedy occurred in Amityville.

Maybe he should spend time researching keywords in Google Analytics and going after a neglected audience? Happy New Year, Debbie.

there is just one thing that comes to mind with Amityville. That could spike his rankings, maybe a niche market.
