In so many ways 2017 has felt like a exceptionally eventful year! Still, it has been the relationships with family and friends who have made it extra special. This year, has brought many smiles to my face, and made it so very memorable.
To begin the year, on January 19th, I participated in the Women’s March. This was the first time in my lifetime when I felt issues were so important that I couldn’t idly sit by on the sidelines. I opened up my cedar chest, pulled out my old 1970s rainbow crocheted poncho, created a sign, and I marched.
In February, I was proud to learn that my grandson, John Luis, and granddaughter Macie, had made straight A’s at school.
Grandson, John Luis is in his second year at Rice University in Houston. He had managed to receive an “A” in all classes, with one A+. He is headed for a medical career.
Macie is currently a senior at Bella Vista High School, here in the Greater Sacramento Region. Because she takes honors classes, and received straight A’s, she achieved a 4.50 grade point average.
In June granddaughter, Isabella graduated from high school in Reno, Nevada. She is currently, attending the University of Nevada in Reno.
In September daughter Tami married. I am pictured here, surrounded by my four children.
And, last but not least, a couple weeks ago, grandson, Ryan, graduated from Georgia Tech, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering!
I am hopeful that 2018 will be jam packed with wonderful family memories not only for me, but for all of you as well! Happy New Year!
