Today there are two important events for the Aurora counties and neighborhoods. The Aurora Municipal Center, which will be referred to as the AMC henceforth, has many important town meetings that occur throughout the month. We have been reporting on other events for the meantime, but are circling back around for these two important ones. This one today is the City Council Meeting. This is only once a month, provided schedules line up and there are enough people in attendance. This will take place in the Council Chambers on the first floor of the AMC. Linda Blackstone will be the provider for the event, and will be facilitating the entire meeting. There is a lot to get through on this one, and so the meeting will take place from 7:30pm to 10:30pm that night. Aurora property management is predicated on the results of these types of meetings. There can be unintended consequences of decision made here that can ripple throughout the entire industry, so we pay attention wherever necessary.
The agenda will be full of anyone submitting his or her interest to the city. Anyone who desires to do such a thing can provide an opening invocation at the regular city council members. Keep in mind, this invocation is a nonsectarian pronouncement of simple values intended to solemnize the occasion of the meeting. The invocations shall not proselytize or advance any one faith or belief, or disparage any other, nor shall invocations establish a religion as the sanctioned or official religion of the council. These interests must be vetted in advance and they should be emailed to the City Clerk’s Office at tcityclerk@auroragov.org. These proceedings will be in detail at the meeting themselves and online if you would like to brush u o anything beforehand.
