I think we will see more short sales over the next few years as the market adjusts yet again and interest rates start to creep up on those adjustable rate mortgages!

Thank you for your comment Lise Howe - I am always looking for those who could use a hand out of a difficult situation. It seems like in CT, with our high taxes & high unemployment rating we continue to face individual financial challenges. I'll continue to plug away at these type deals & hope to never see one of my clients go to foreclosure. From 2005 to date I have a 100% success rate in that niche. When there's a will & a way every one of these deals is workable. Folks just need to find somebody like myself who has chosen to make this their mission.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

Glad to know you specialize in short sales, Peter! It's always nice to have someone to put heads together with when you have issues! We haven't seen many of these in years here but, I sense it won't be long before we pick up a few again.

Happy Wednesday!

Thank you for your comment Debe Maxwell, CRS I got into real estate in 2004 & shortly after my 1st transaction the market crashed. I ended up doing a lot (like 200+) short sales since that turn. Although they are no longer a big market segment there are always hundreds upon hundreds of people in CT that are in Preforeclosure. I've had a lot of challenging short sales throughout the years; I have stuck with each til we found success but in the process I've learned a lot. If you or anyone you know needs some short sale advice I am always happy to share what I know.

This old post caught my eye and I could not help but comment.

Back in 2008-2012, the Medford Team did a lot of short sales. I was the Team member who managed those listings. Short sales were a very significant part of the market in those days. Very time consuming. Very long transactions. Sad for the sellers who were losing their homes.

Now...I have seen very few short sales. Now, homeowners mostly have equity that will allow them to sell their house and walk away with cash in pocket if a life changing incident puts them in a position where they can no longer afford their mortgage.
