AR's Community Guidelines

The guidepost for Best Practices for AR's Community Guidelines has been passed down through the ages. It is called "The Golden Rules," Whatsoever ye would that others should do to you, do ye even so to them. For this is the law of the prophets. In other words, "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you." ---- Matthew 7:12

AR Community Guidelines provides the responsibility for each member to adhere to because the survivorship of the platform is counting on individual trustworthiness. A topic of significant interest is as follows:

"The ActiveRain community and real estate industry as a whole will only be respected to the degree of character represented by the actions of its professionals. Do not conduct yourself in a way that disgraces your fellow members of this network." A visual illustration of this point of view is a bronze statue of a man on a horse. The message of the tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians is as follows:  "When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount."

Repeatedly beating someone down with insults, having disrespect causing intentional or unintentional harm to discredit another individual, or using this platform for something it was not intended for shall not be tolerated by ActiveRain. Post dated 1/7/2018 AR's Guiding Principles, Known as Weltanschauung expands further on the paired wisdom of "The Three Monkeys" to go along with this one. A Blog can be an impressive tool for social interaction. The experience should be satisfying to the readers. Individuality is encouraged with an emphasis of good reading material written by professionals in the Real Estate industry.

Barbara Todaro - AR does monitor and they do listen. This is a great platform and members in good standing usually stay on ActiveRain for a long time.

Have a wonderful day.

Gita Bantwal - New members should start out by reading and becoming familiar with AR's Community Guidelines and Weltanschauung, read featured blog posts, make friendly comments where they have something positive to add; then start blogging.

I hope you have an excellent day!

Wayne Martin - One of the best designations I invested in many years ago is Certified Negotiation Expert. It pays to know how to negotiate, build relationships, diffuse a situation, and work together for the greater good. I can't think of any buyer or seller who would settle for anything less.

Thank you for liking my post today. I hope you have a great day!

Love the horse and rider statue and message. But I still see those monkeys.   Great reminders aren't they?  In reading through the guidelines - especially for points, it's clear nobody monitors the posts any more.  Although, IMHO, we need to monitor our selves...an honor code requires trust. It starts within. D

Patricia fortunately we do not have many members who are out to get into an argument, but we do have a few "know it all's" who create issues.  Luckily these members rarely stick around for long.

When ePro first came about they had a community blog post site. It quickly turned into a swamp.  A few experienced agents touted, "How I always do it is....", and that everyone else was wrong inspite of local laws differing. It didn't survive because the culture was toxic, dominated by a few self agrandizing agents.

It's the same when you go to a party.  If the guests are fun and inviting, you stay.  If they are belligerent and condescending, you pick up your skirt and say with a smile, "This was such fun, I have to go now."

Hi Patricia, I totally agree with the way you see things and try to live by the Golden Rule. It serves nobody any good purpose to tear down and disrespect another.
