Wednesday Wilds in Home Inspections- How long to do it wrong?
Wenatchee Home Inspections.
I have wonder why so many that flip or renovate homes actually take as much time to do something wrong as it would to do it correctly.
Here is an example, a simple drain from a bathtub. Whoever did the work used a flex pipe typically you would find on sinks. This plumbing material is not a listed product and is not allowed as an approved material for plumbing, anywhere in a home.
The UPC (Uniform Plumbing Code) states-
701.1 Drainage Piping. Materials for drainage piping shall be in accordance with one of the referenced standards in Table 701.1.
I know these flex pipes do not meet any of the references or have been approved.
Remember the box stores are in the business of selling you something. Not always in the business of selling you the right something.
Doing something wrong, no matter how many times you do it, it is still wrong. When people are performing renovations or repairs preparing homes for sale or even personal use proper materials and installation are still required.
