Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden - A Year-Round Charlotte Area Gem

DSBGDaniel Jonathan Stowe Conservatory, the official name of the popular Charlotte Metro area attraction, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, was the dream of a local retired Belmont textile executive.

In 1991, Mr. Stowe bestowed the 400 acres of gorgeous meadows, woodland and lakefront property for the creation of his vision of a glorious botanical garden. After 3 years of developing a master plan, one was created and approved by the Board of Directors for DSBG.

In 1999 the first formal & perennial gardens were opened.  In 2003, the White Garden was completed and in 2008, the Orchid Conservatory opened to the public.

As you can see by the plan below, there are many stunning gardens & nature areas that truly rival some of the world’s top conservatories, including a Crepe Myrtle Grove and the Four Seasons Garden. The Woodland Trail is also a popular attraction at DSBG.

Plans are already in place for future development over the next 25+ years at the Garden. The Rock & Waterfall Garden and the Rose Pavilion & Garden are much anticipated future additions at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden.
