A friend had a down day the other day when after doing a blow-out on a walk-in the customer asked for someone else the next time she returned to the salon.
Now my friend has had 10 times that many new customers who have returned to her and sung her praises. Her boyfriend reminded her that this one one of those times that the bear ate her.
We don't get every listing or job we go after but have to look and hold on to the ones that we do.
Some Days You Eat the Bear
“A man learns to skate by staggering about making a fool
of himself; indeed, he progresses in all things by
making a fool of himself.”
George Bernard Shaw 1856 - 1950, Irish Writer and Critic
As I see it . . . . . . .
Some days you eat the bear
Some day you will look like a hero . . . . and there are other days that you may make a fool out of yourself.
Every day is a new day . . . . and there will are ups and there are downs.
Some days you eat the bear . . . . and days the bear eats you.
Make the most of the ups in your life . . . . and work your way past the down days.
Work hard at creating as many up days in your life as possible . . . . They will accumulate and become the foundation for your long term success journey.
Look at the down days in your life as a temporary condition. Work through those conditions the best you can . . . . and put them where belong and that’s behind you.
Some days you eat the bear . . . . and some days the bear eats you. Build your life on the positive of your up days . . . . and learn from the down days you encounter. In all cases remain focused on your long term goals and objectives.
