Ballantyne Breakfast Club Meeting Jan 20th: Meet Charlotte's New Mayor

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Executive | Charlotte, NC

The Ballantyne Breakfast Club kicks off 2018 this Saturday, January 20th with a meeting at which you can meet Charlotte's new Mayor, Vi Lyles, who will speak about future plans for Charlotte and specifically about her vision and plans for the Ballantyne and South Charlotte areas. There will be a brief question and answer period afterwards.

Ballantyne Breakfast Club Meeting Jan 20, 2018

Saturday's meeting of the Ballantyne Breakfast Club is one of six meetings held throughout each year. All meetings are open to the public at no cost. Founded in 2001 as a communication form, The Ballantyne Breakfast Club is now in it's 17th successful year of providing opportunities for Ballantyne and South Charlotte residents to meet and to learn about community events and priorities relating to local development, rezoning, education, transportation, safety and city/county government.

Whether you've lived in Ballantyne/South Charlotte for many years or are a newcomer, the Ballantyne Breakfast Club meetings are a "must go" to stay on top of neighborhood developments. But keep in mind, you don't need to live in Ballantyne to be welcomed to Ballantyne Breakfast Club meetings.

Roy Kelley ~ hi Roy... maybe because Ballantyne is a newer area of Charlotte, residents (many of whom have moved here from out of state) tend to get more involved than in other parts of Charlotte metro.

Scott Godzyk ~ I kind of already know what's on this mayor's mind (and I don't agree with it), but I don't mind hearing it straight from the horse's mouth, as they say.

Richard Bazinet /MBA, CRS, ABR ~ hi Richard, I am finally at peace with the knowledge that my political views are not those of most of Charlotte these days. But at least I'm not swimming upstream vis-a-vis the rest of NC.

Nina, I was going to say, how nice that the Mayor does this, but sounds like it is ongoing, and know you will go with an open mind.

Joan Cox ~ hi Joan... I must admit, my mind is not open  to anything this mayor proposes.... and I doubt it ever will be... but that doesn't mean I won't be polite and listen.

Ginny Gorman ~ hi Ginny... no doubt about that. But as my politics are diametrically opposed to that of the mayor's and I did not vote for her, from where I sit she does not represent me per se... but I've come to terms with the fact that my politics are not in line with Charlotte City as a whole.

Debbie Reynolds ~ no doubt, Debbie. First of all, it's a Saturday and people want to get on with their weekend. Secondly, the Ballantyne Resort provides a free room and refreshments to the group... so it's in and out in the stated time so that the room can be used for other events right after.

Nick & Trudy Vandekar, 610-203-4543 ~ hi Nick... I'm not normally a fan of meetings like this, but the Ballantyne Breakfast Club has the best such programs around for those of us who live in the area to stay informed and to see our city leaders up close and personal, as they say.
