Proactive Listening is a Success Skill
There are people we interact with who are never truly in the conversation with you. You know them...the ones who are trying to fashion what they will say next rather than pay any attention to what you are saying. They don't comment on what you just said because they're too busy thinking about what they will say next. Proactive listening is not just a success skill it is an art.
Proactive Listening is a Success Skill
“Opportunities are often missed because we are
broadcasting when we should be listening.”

As I see it . . . . . . .
Proactive listening is a success skill
A proactive listener . . . . listens to gather information . . . . to understand the speaker and to what they are really saying. As a result a proactive listener has the knowledge to be in control of the conversation.
A proactive listener practices the rules of effective communications . . . .
They will proactively listen to the speaker about 80% of the time and invest about 20% of the time to draw person into the conversation by asking open ended questions.
With the proactive listener it’s not the duration of the conversation that’s as important as the exchange of information.
When your listening 80% of the time you are receiving valuable information. This information will help you to better understand the person that you’re speaking with. In a business environment that information will help you to help your customers.
Far more opportunities reveal themselves by listening . . . . than are found in talking.
Proactive listening is a success skill . . . . and as you master it . . . . it becomes priceless.
