The master-planned community of Inspirada has partnered with the city of Henderson to be this year’s sponsor for the donation drive of Munchies 4 the Military – founded by the Douglas J. Green Memorial Foundation.
They are requesting for help from the community in collecting “wish list” items for the Foundations care packages that are mailed to military service members and families deployed overseas.
Suni Chabrow, founder of the Douglas J. Green Foundation, stated “This is Munchies 4 the Military’s fifth year, but it’s the first time we have assembled the care packages in Henderson, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Inspirada and the City of Henderson. The collaboration is helping raise awareness for the annual donation drive and the foundation.” Chabrow created the Foundation in honor of her son SPC Douglas J. Green, killed in action in 2011 on his second tour in Afghanistan.
The wish list items include snack food, breakfast items, beef jerky, nuts, dried fruit, protein bars and wet wipes. The deadline for donating is February 10 with many drop off locations such as the Henderson City Hall, Henderson recreational and senior facilities, Jolly Beans, and the Solista Community Center in Inspirada.
