Connectture is another networking site similar to linkedin. It is a platform set up for you to manage and connect with others online. I just signed up and created my profile which of course is centered around Real Estate in Metrowest Massachusetts.

Social networking is becoming a bigger part of our business everyday. There are some social networking sites that are terrific and some that you know will not last. Is this a site that will last...who knows but it will take you 5 minutes to set up a profile and forget about it :)

If you sign up, send me an invite I would love to connect!

Hi Bill,   Nice looking site.  I do wonder which of these many sites will be around a year from now !

Bill - Some will last and other will crash and burn. In any event it can't hurt to increase your online presence as you never know where someone will find you.

I don't know Bill...I'm a big LinkedIn fan!!! But I'll poke around anyway... There's just so much out there and it keeps growing daily. The only way to manage your time well enough is to be selective about which networks you become a part of.

Bill,  Thanks for the info, but I'm going to have to follow Ricardo's lead here.  I feel the same way.

Ricardo and Marc - I agree with you on the time spent. I have not spent any time with this site and many others that I have profiles on. It never can hurt to spend 5 minutes creating a profile. The reason being if this site ever takes off and has good page rank it may benefit in passing some of the link strength back to your website.

Thanks,

I wish someone would come up with the top ten sites and post a blog on it.  We could join those and not worry about the rest.

All the best!

Kevin - I think there would be quite a few opinions on what ten would belong in the list. Everyone places their own value on what makes a good social network anyways. Some may believe SEO others could be how good the interaction is.

Hi Bill. the competition between social networking sites is becoming fierce. It's always nice to have new places to market/promote our name so right now I'm trying to consolidate everything and just point my various profiles on the web back to one or two central places so I can manage it more easily. Nice find as usual Mr G, thx!

Hi Marti - Thanks for dropping by. This is exactly what I do when I join and create a profile at these sites. The profile I create always directs them back to my main website and blog.

Bill, I see we are connected but I am having trouble joining the Real Estate group. I chose it and for some reason don't show up. If you look at my profile you won't see it "underlined" and I can't figure out how to do that for groups and interests either. What am I doing wrong? Yours and Adams looks the same but mine is different. - Any idea?

Hi Jo - I don't remember adding myself to any groups. I will have to check it out and see if I can figure it out for you.

Well Bill, I tried everything and couldn't even figure out how to delete so I dumped all my data and when to sign up again and still the same problem - yours and Adams are fine. There is no contact button and so I sent a note via the "is this hard" link and gave them my email. So we will see.

Bill, I sent a request to them through the "is this hard" link and gave my email address, they have been very nice and have been in conversation with me about this issue. I also said it would be nice to have a help menu which they said would be installed in 10 days.  I know what you are saying but you would think you could see yourself in the Real Estate section - I had to leave it because of time and will do some more tweaking today and let you know. When I get it done I will let you know and maybe you could look at my profile and test it :)

Bill, Thanks for all your help - when I made a new account thinking I had done something wrong I went and looked at the complete account and could see it just like I see yours. I am now ok!! lol!! You can see me in the "groups" I just can't see myself and that is how it works. Off to find some connections :)

A very interesting Social Business network which is growing, reminds me a bit of one of the big business networks.

Connectture.com has a lot of usable features. - i just saw today that they have released some cool tools - among them an interface to LinkedIn - now you can import your profile with 2 clicks.
I found this article about them : http://www.profy.com/2007/12/23/connectture-a-linkedin-wanna-be/

Erica - You don't need to spend time on a site like Connecture...just create a profile. There are far too many people who for some reason think when they join a site they need to spend time working on it. If you are interested in good SEO to make your website and blog rank better this is what you should be doing.

Terry - My question would be WHY? It is no wonder with this attitude why so many agents scratch their head and can never figure out why they are not able to get to the top of the rankings in Google and other search engines.

Bill,  I signed up on Connectture at your recommendation.  It's easy because it imported all the info from my LinkedIn profile, so I didn't have to re-type any of that info.  Looks like LinkedIn, too.  I'm game for getting my name out there for FREE anytime.  Thanks for the post and the recommendation to join Connectture. :)

Just a SEO tip:

With regards to improving your search engine ability (SEO) I would strongly recommend that you enable your 'Public Profile' on connectture.com - you will find it under 'My Profile' - it creates a web page that all the search engines can find and index.

the best setting is 'Full View'

Have a profitable day

you guys should look at the new article feature on www.connectture.com where you can publicize your article.

Maybe some one would be interested in writing about real estate as a subject or some other business related subject.

Its a great way of getting more traffic to your site if you create a link from your article to your site.

Take care
