Tulsa Food Bank is Looking for Volunteers

According to WhyHunger.org, over 16 million households in the United States suffer from "food insecurity". That represents just over 12% of the total homes in America. Over six million households experience severe food insecurity. That includes homes right here in Tulsa and the surrounding area. The Tulsa Food Bank is looking for volunteers from all walks of life. Are you willing to help them out?

The Tulsa Food Bank is looking for volunteers for all aspects of their service: food prep, teachers, office workers, drivers, etc. Find out where your skills can best be put to use when you attend their volunteer reception on January 25th.

Tulsa Food Bank Wants You

Search homes for sale in the Tulsa area Are you fortunate enough to be able to have a roof over your head and put food on the table? Do you want to help those who have to choose between one or the other because they can't afford both? Then the Tulsa Food Bank wants you! Come to their "Sweet Opportunities" volunteer reception they'll be hosting at their facility on Thursday, January 25th. See how you can put your skills to work for the betterment of those in need. Do you like to cook? Maybe you can volunteer to teach one of the food bank's healthy cooking classes. Or, help extend the life of the perishable items donated to the Tulsa Food Bank by working the culinary center. Can you drive? The Mobile Pantry, Food for Kids Program, and food distribution branches could use you. Can you handle office duties? They need help there, too.

At the "Sweet Opportunities" reception, they'll assess your skills to place you where you can do the most good. For Spanish-speaking residents, the Tulsa Food Bank has a special set of opportunities available for you, too. All you have to do is contact Teressa with the food bank to claim a spot at the Tulsa Food Bank volunteer reception. And for our local high school students, remember that community service looks great on college applications. You can help your future by helping others today.
