The Columbus Blue Jackets have been our hometown hockey team since 2000 and they have also proven a great partnership with the city of Columbus. The Blue Jackets players and staff have donated time and money to events and foundations throughout Columbus to foster a great relationship with their fans
This year, the Jackets are bring back Winter Park with a partnership from Worthington Industries and Columbus Park and Rec. A full NHL sized ice rink will be available for public skating at McFerson Commons (across the street from Nationwide Arena) from Friday, February 2 through Sunday, February 25.
Two days before the official opening, the Blue Jackets are scheduled to hold a team practice at the outdoor rink on Wednesday, January 31 at 12 p.m. (pending weather conditions). The practice will be free and open to the public.
Admission for public skating is $10 for adult and $ 5 for kids including skate rental (Purchases are cash only at Winter Park) If you don’t want to skate, you can watch the action from a heated tent outside the rink, sponsored by Great Wolf Lodge
To kick off the opening of the 2018 season of Winter Park, the Jackets and MS3 Sports are having a 5K run/walk on February 4th.; The 5th Line 5K Racers get a tee shirt, finishers medal and 2 tickets to upcoming Blue Jackets games.
