I'm A Professional Home Stager, Not Your Parole Officer

Reblogger Praful Thakkar

Who does not know Sharon Tara?

I have conversation with her couple of times

when I was looking for the stager for my listng.

She is just across the border for me.

However we have never met in person.

This re-post is to introduce her professionalism!

Not sure why people believe that we can do ANYTHING?

We wear one cap only. That of our profession.

Sharon Tara shares this fact in this re-blog:

I'm A Professional Home Stager,

Not Your Parole Officer.

One of my recent posts received this comment:

If I have to stay there until the place is sold and it just doesn't feel like MINE anymore because half of my furniture and all of my personal items are in storage, I'd be VERY uncomfortable. "

They would be "very uncomfortable" living in a house that doesn't feel like theirs anymore.

Isn't the whole point of listing your house for sale to make it NO LONGER YOURS?  This got me thinking of all the excuses I've heard from my clients...

past clients

The seller who wouldn't move the dog food from the kitchen to the garage, because it would be too inconvenient.

The seller who wouldn't put the doors back on the closets...."let the new owners do it."

Many sellers who refused to give up their favorite chair because it's comfortable.

The sellers who couldn't remove all the home schooling posters from the living room walls because it would be disruptive to their child's education.

The seller who argued "buyers will see past the mauve wall-to-wall carpet in the kitchen."

Many sellers who couldn't live without the TV in the master bedroom.

The seller who said "it would be far too much work" to remove the bookcases that were eating up valuable square footage.

I'm not your mother and I'm not your parole officer.  I'm a professional home stager.  I give advice.  I suggest ways to make your "product for sale" more appealing to buyers.  Being inconvenienced and uncomfortable is to be expected while your home is on the market.

It's your decision...

You can make excuses...or you can make the sale.

I've heard the excuses.  I prefer MAKING THE SALE.

Its seller's motivation as to how quickly they want to sell and how much they want net determines what they will or will not do to cooperate!!!
