ActiveRain is so much more than a place where real estate professionals can network with their peers and discuss insider topics. It’s a site to learn, share and develop friendships. Ideas on marketing and best business practices are shared all on a public forum where customers can pull back the curtain and see what the real estate industry is really all about.
In our forum guidelines are established so we all play nice in the sandbox and represent our industry as true, transparent and professional. The very first word in our AR community guidelines is the word “RESPECT. ” This is the foundation our guidelines are built on. It is important to exhibit mutual respect for our industry, fair housing and the ActiveRain community.
Understanding our attitudes and actions towards each other will have a greater positive impact on the viewing/reading public than anything we could ever write! As Bill Spear said in his recent post "We're on a social media platform that encourages interaction. I comment, you comment, we comment and the community grows."
Our ideas and comments we present set the tone for the level of professionalism we exhibit. Are we tolerant of others ideas? Are we willing to learn from others? Do we show compassion? Do we know how to communicate in a professional and positive way which builds rapport and relationships with colleagues and the public? Do we remember once words leave our lips they can’t be taken back…...they are in the universe forever!
This amazing community can only reach its full potential when we all learn to consistently demonstrate mutual respect for one another. ActiveRain was built for a community of real estate professionals to network and create a sense of community. This is our community and it’s up to us to make it a special place.
