TIPS ON SELLING YOUR HOME

So, you’re ready to start anew and move on. Sometimes, to do so you need to leave your comfort zone and re-establish your roots somewhere else. If you are a homeowner, it is time to sell your present residence. Below are some of the tips you should consider in selling your home:

  • Maintain good lighting throughout your home. Many home buyers want to have good lighting inside the home. Dark corners and spaces should never exist when you’re selling your home. Check the wattage of your light bulbs, clean your windows, take down your curtains, and trim your bushes. Your goal is to allow both natural and artificial light to spread throughout your home.

  • Make sure to price your house right. Seek a professional to find out the total worth of your house. After acquiring that information, deduct about 15% to 20% from the given price. Doing this would result in more interested parties.

  • Keep things tidy. Remember that all house buyers tend to snoop around. Organize anything that is left inside your closets if you cannot empty them just yet.

  • Hide your pets. Many home sellers think that allowing their pets to wander around while prospective buyers look at their house is a good way to soften hearts and wallets. They could be wrong because not everyone is a pet lover. Most buyers don’t like walking into a home that has pet feeding bowls, pet fur, and litterboxes. They might also have the impression that your house is not clean at all. You can leave your pets in a pet hotel or pet daycare while you have your open house.

  • De-personalize. You should de-personalize when you are selling your house. Remove anything that shows your personality or your family. This allows prospective home buyers to see themselves having a life there. Put your belongings in storage for a while. You can also hire a home stager to arrange the furniture based on the floor plan. This maximizes the space of your home.

Selling your home is very much like selling a large part of yourself. Yet, if you need to make a new start and you know you couldn’t manage two homes, it’s time to sell your present home. Take your time and hire professionals if you want to get the most for your home. Once you sell your home to the right people, you know that you are passing on a beautiful, livable space.
