Some of you may or may not of known John, but he was a HUGE influence in the Real Estate Blogging Community. He lived and worked in the St.Petersburg, Florida area.
John Mudd "Mr. Real Estate" passes away at the young age of 32 of natural causes last month. One of the news articles states that he hadn't been taking his medicine for diabetes, which he was diagnosed as having at just 13 months old. He was blogging for a cure to cure diabetes and even talked to a House Committee in Washington to urge them to find a cure.
Though I had never met John in person or ever talked to him over the phone, he was a wonderful person. We only ever talked via email or instant messaging. He was actually the person that got me into blogging nearly a year ago. I had just passed the real estate exam and obtained my real estate license when I first ran into John about 2 1/2 years ago online and started talking to him. He was always willing to lend a hand and give me ideas on how to make my real estate business grow. He had a very successful real estate career as well as a couple of great real estate blogs, PropertyMaven and InsideRealEstateJournal (which is no longer up and running). He was one of the first Real Estate Bloggers out there that "took the bull by the horns" and ran with it and changed what blogging is now today. He influenced so many people to start blogging about real estate. He has been featured in local newspapers, Inman News, featured in Realtor magazine, featured in Broker Agent News, interviewed by other real estate bloggers and has been featured in so many other places. He was also in the process of writing a book about blogging when he passed. His name is very well known in the blogging community and many people looked up to John including myself as an inspiration of how blogging could change your business.
He will be missed by friends and family and my heart goes out to them. I will always remember him with kind words and gestures at the end of every email. He always ended them with "Cheers, and have a wonderful day"!
He is in a better place now and he will always be remembered as a kind hearted man!
