Carla Freund - Thank you! I also think it's easier to break into cars when you have a parking lot filled with cars in an Apartment Complex. It's a lot harder to know your neighbors too. And you're right about having people live above you or below you. I only had one apartment complex experience and that was when I moved to TX. It was the worse experience of my life and I never got a good night sleep. Plus, the apartment complex had a policy, they could come inside whenever they wanted if they needed repair work, scheduled a pest inspector, or felt something was suspicious. For me, it was horrible!!!

Sheila Anderson - I couldn't agree more! The advantages are limitless. On a case-by-case study, each individual has to weigh the different to decide what's best for them. Some times, you don't know, what you don't know. For example, because I didn't have prior experience in renting an apartment, I was flabbergasted  because I learn many of the disadvantages the hard way. Also, my car wasn't protected in an open apartment complex parking lot. Another example, what I paid for an apartment plus storage for the furniture I couldn't fit in the apartment cost more than I realized. For me, it was an expensive proposition. Once I went back to owning, I got more and paid less per month. 

I am in hopes that people will make a list and compare for themselves what are their personal advantages and disadvantages.

There's a lot to ponder on "Why build another person's wealth?" I often wonder the same thing when it comes to eating out. Although it is fun to experience fine cuisine and eat out occasionally, I wonder about those homes with Gourmet Kitchens, lots of cabinets, Upgraded Appliances not being used. One can certainly enjoy a fine dining inside their own home which is often more spacious and well equipped than inside an apartment. Plus preparing your own meals is often healthier and cheaper.

A home owner that is healthy, wealthy and wise is WISE indeed!

Steffy Hristova - I really enjoyed reading your comments and having your support is greatly appreciated. There was a time in America when renting was cheaper and tenants didn't have to go through all that red tape. The way I see it, if one has to go through the process for a mortgage or rental property, why not start consulting with a Lender, i.e., someone like George Souto who will be honest and truthful about what is best for the individual (s). The Lender can also let the prospective buyer know what they need to do to get their financials organized and ready to buy when the time is right.
