The title of this blog post is most definitely NOT me speaking.
The words: “I don’t need to go to any classes because I know what I’m doing” came from the mouth of a Real Estate Sales person who had just committed several “infractions” while negotiating a transaction. Misuse of forms and misinterpretation of clauses and failure to honor deadlines and . . . and . . . and . . .
The good news in this scary scenario is that the coop agent on the other side of the transaction has the mentality that learning is power and that the point in time would never come that she would know enough not to need more training . . . Her depth of knowledge gave her the confidence and resilience to serve all parties to the transaction at a level that overcame the shortfalls/gaps created by the know-it-all jerk on the other side.
February 24, 2018 will be my 25th anniversary date as a REALTOR, and guess what?
I’m still learning . . . and I still don’t know it all.
Year ago I owned a motorcycle. A friend of mine gave me some advice that likely saved my life.
He told me that the minute I think to myself that I have riding the motorcycle mastered, I should STOP riding and sell the bike.
The mentality of knowing it all is a very dangerous thing.
I know I’m preaching to the choir, but I want this to be out there to be read and shared.
There are WAY too many folks out there practicing real estate sales without sufficient training by THEIR choice.
Ignorance is NOT bliss!
Every day . . . Learn ONE thing new!
Every day . . .
