FREE Youth Fishing Derby Seminar/Campout Feb. 2
Learn to fish from the pros and watch demonstrations on how to properly
rig a line the night before the 23rd Annual Youth Fishing Derby. Pizza dinner
will be served with the fishing seminar immediately following. Participants
and their families are invited to spend the night for only $15 a car.

Lake Poway Youth Fishing Derby Feb. 3
Fishing, prizes, entertainment, games, bounce houses, a free barbecue
lunch and more! Join the City of Poway and Captain Ron Baker. Freshly
stocked with 1,500 pounds of rainbow trout, the lake will be open only to
youth ages 15 and younger. Winners must be present to claim prizes at the
awards ceremony.

Sandbag Give-a-Way Event Feb. 3
Sandbags will be available per event to Encinitas residents (no contractors)
on a first come, first serve basis. Residents must provide photo ID and
show proof of residency. 10 filled sandbags will be given for each address/
property (while supply lasts). Residents must self-load the sandbags.

Save A Heart Save A Life 5K Feb. 3
The mission of the Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation is to influence
families, educators, elected officials and the medical community to
recognize the incidence of youth SCA/D and the importance of preventative
heart screenings, and to support equipping schools with automated
external defibrillators (AED) plus CPR/AED training.
