Donizetti’s comedy revolves around Marie, the tomboyish brat le soldat who is raised by an army troop, who falls in love with Tonio, a handsome recruit who must enlist in the regiment in order to win approval from Marie’s many foster fathers. To thicken the plot, the Marquise of Birkenfield arrives on the scene with the secret knowledge that Marie is in fact an aristocratic and must marry within the fold. Will Tonio be the one?
With Audrey Luna, who broke the Metropolitan Opera’s record for the highest note ever sung this past year, starring as Marie!
Michele Angelini and Jenni Bank joins her on stage in their HOT Debuts along with the return of HOT favorites Jake Gardener and Jamie Offenbach. Daughter of the Regiment is also known for the role of the Duchess of Crackenthorpe, usually played by a surprise guest, yet to be announced.
