Spokane Preservation Workshops  What can you do with an old barn, an old school, or a historic building? 

Spokane Preservation Advocates  are at it again with more interesting workshops to educate, entertain, inform and to promote preservation of structures rich in history.

 

Their  current lecture series is titled: "Adventures in Adaptive Reuse."

  

Workshop 1 -  "What if I bought a barn?"

Learn just what it takes to bring historic buildings to life from property owners and other professionals.  Explore the possibilities.   A tremendous amount of information will be provided for serious preservationists and for the curious.  

 

The cost is $20 per session or $50 for all three and begin at 5:30 pm.  Tickets are available at the door or online and the public is encouraged to attend.  The venue for the trio of workshops is the Spokane Woman's Club conveniently

located at  1428 W 9th Avenue, Spokane WA.

Now you're talking, but they can extend the series to Firestation, Railroad Depot, Church. Repurpose is one avenue.  Fire stations are interesting with a pole down the middle.  I sold a very old duplex that belonged to an ex Tassel Twirler. It might count as an historical site.

I'd love to attend these classes Jack Tenold . I've dreamed of owning each of these buildings and they come by pretty cheap around here but then again I don't really want to live in any of the above so I'd end up being several miles away from my project.

My wife would have us at a seminar like these in a heartbeat, Jack Tenold .. the thought of repurposing an older (even historical) building gets her giddy.  Hope this event was successful.  I know it was popular ...
