Rabies Vaccinations & Pet Licensing in Montgomery County, Maryland

Spring is just weeks away and your dogs and cats that have spent more time indoors during this particularly cold winter season, will be able to really enjoy being outdoors. To keep your pets and our community safe, it is the law in Montgomery County that all pet dogs and cats that are at least four months old be continuously vaccinated against rabies, and must be licensed by Montgomery County.

An immediately visible Montgomery County license tag on your pet’s collar is the fastest way to be reunited with a lost pet and is only issued with proof of regular vaccination against the rabies virus. Licensing laws apply even if your pet is confined on private property.

It seems that even in the small towns license and rabies shots are mandatory

It is mandatory in our town too. They make it easy by having free clinics and discounted vaccination centers.

You have to have proof of a rabies shot to get a dog license in Cedaredge. Of course Lucky is up to date on all of his shots.

Great localism post, Roy.

Say hi to Dolores for me.
