Having a Local Association has many benefits to assist REALTORS and affiliates in their business, but recently my Association has added another benefit for Managing Brokers.
There have been a few so far, held quarterly, and this forum is to keep us aware of changes in our industry, issues to watch out for, and new programs available through our MLS or other outlets. Our Real Estate Commission Director plus the Colorado Association of REALTORS legal counsel is usually in attendance to add value to these meetings.
Today there were only a dozen or so Managing Brokers in attendance, but think as we "get the word out" about this forum, it will be better attended. There were quite a few Solo agencies represented today and a few managing agents. We did talk about the change coming in 2019 with the Managing Broker requirements as well as MLS happenings.
These forums are only held quarterly, and last about 90 minutes. We get started at 8:30, so doesn't usually interfere with business during the day.
Our Association not only provides a Friday morning market meeting, lots of choices of classes, a REALTOR store, and social activities to interact with REALTORS as well as our affiliates.
