The FLU stopped one home sale but found me another sale

It has happened, the first sale killed due to the flu. My buyer had seen a half dozen homes. She wanted to see her favorite again and put in an offer. The seller said no, they have the flu and no showings. As the buyer pondered her next favorite, she comes down with the flu. In her best layed out plan B, if they have the flu and she has the flu there should not be an issue.

Not sure I was so good with that. Then she calls and wants me to pick her up, she is too sick to drive but wants to go see 2 homes. I asked her if she is too sik to drive, maybe should wait until she is better to see these homes. No way she said as she gets her sister to drive her. I meet them at the first home, she is coughing, wheezing, sneezing and I kept my distance.

She did not like the home, she wants to wait for the "sick home" and then as surprises come, the sister loved the home. She wants to make an offer. She thanked me so much for spending time with them. They asked 100's of questions, literally. I answered them all and she said "She could not be in better hands". Then she hit me with her boyfriend has a home to sell and once he moves in with her, can I list it?

I had resorted to resisting hand shaking but the sister insisted on a hug she was so excited to find a home she loved so much. It was a good thing I bought the PURELL SANITIZER 12 Pack or hand sanitizer, wipes, travel pack and jelly wraps. A little precautionary purell never hurt. It was the best $19.99 I spent to have all this purell.

So if you have the flu, I hope you feel better. But stay home, rest and do not spread it.

My philosophy is simple, provide more personal and professional service to guide my clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest. Those that hire me, find a dedication like no other.

During this season we always give our traveling buyers a sample size bottle...we want them to catch a good house...not a good case of the flu !

Wow Scott, that is true dedication and getting possibly 3 transactions out of it, sounds like it was worth the risk.  We are having problems with not being able to get into homes due to the flu.  I can honestly say, this is the worst flu season.  I have never had so many homes we were not able to get into because of this.  Hope you don't get it and I'm going to get some Purell.

They say when a buyer wants to see a home, go and show it to them. I do think she should have stayed in bed but i tried to keep my distance so i wasnt getting coughed on. She was good about covering up and not touching anything. I am happy i went because i made a client for life now Brenda J. Andrew

Hi Scott,
Well, I'm glad things worked out so well but people like that is why illness continues to spread  If you're sick, you should stay away from people as much as possible.

I agree Carol Williams , staying home and not spreading it should be how everyone thinks,  i had to go to home depot, and the couple in front of me were coughing up 2 lungs accompanied by non stop sneezing, no covered mouths, i moved check out lines.

Well, you can't blame the seller for being sick and you can't blame the buyer for moving forward.

Glad that worked out for you in the end. I can;t say I would have gotten that sale though. My Brother caught the Flu earlier this week and I won't even talk to him on the phone.

There is no question this has been a wicked flu season.  Many around me have been impacted.  The few times in my life I've had flu, have always seemed to hit near the end of the flu season.  I'm dosing up on extra vitamin C, and trying to steer clear.

That gal you took out with the flu may be the most motivated home buyer I have heard of.  I would not want to be out anywhere if I had the flu.
